How can I convert accompaniment music from guitar chords?
Q. I have the guitar chords to a song and I play it on the left hand, but I'm not sure what to play on my right hand. I need to play accompaniment music to some vocal singing for a performance so I need help!
Asked by ctct - Sun Apr 8 08:42:58 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Personally, I would just play the chords and maybe improve a little within the chord structure with my right hand. You can get a little more creative, but usually the accompaniment shouldn't overshadow the vocal performer.

Where can I find audio files of piano accompaniment to violin songs WITHOUT the violin part?
Q. I would like something to play along to. YouTube videos would work just as well. I want something with just the accompaniment to lots of classical songs. Nothing in particular, just in general. Full accompaniment (orchestra, guitar, etc.) would be ideal, but piano is probably easier to find and just as functional. I'd rather have something free, like on YouTube, or at least something cheap. Because I'm not really willing to pay $25 for one-two songs.

A. There's tons of music like this. It's called "Music Minus One." Google is your friend.

Where can I download musical theatre accompaniment tracks online that are good?
Q. I am looking for some accompaniment tracks to help myself practice material and am hoping that somewhere online will help me out.
Asked by lagib - Sat Jan 30 21:05:13 2010 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. There is an absurdly large number of musical theatre instrumentals (and karaokes) posted up on Youtube. If you have a few specific songs you want to practice, look them up using the Youtube search bar, and sift through the videos. You'd be best off trying a few, as some are much better than others. If you want to download the music to your computer, you can convert the Youtube link using zamzar.com or someting similar.

where can i get just the orchestra accompaniment recording for Christmas oratorio by JS Bach?
Q. Our choir is performing Christmas Oratorio by JS Bach . We dont have a full-fledged orchestra. Piano accompaniment lacks the brilliance. Can I get just get the accompaniment music(audio) somewhere ? Are such CDs available in the market?

A. I would be very surprised to find out that such a thing existed. I can't imagine there is much demand for it. For smaller works, perhaps but not for something large scale like the Christmas Oratorio. As an alternative perhaps you can arrange one of the following: Is there a local community college orchestra that might be interested in participating? How about having the music recorded on a computer? There might be an enterprising electronic music person in your area (the community college comes to mind again) who might be able to transcribe the orchestration to a synthesizer. It won't sound perfect but it can sound close enough to make it worth while. Plus, you'd have much more control over tempos, etc. It's conceivable there… [cont.]

help please! I need a way to practice an audition song with piano accompaniment ?
Q. I have an audition on Wednesday (24th) and I need to sing a song with piano accompaniment. I'm doing "wishing you were somehow here again" from phantom of the opera. I'm getting the sheet music for the accompanist to play for the audition but I need to practice it before so I know how to sing with the piano. I don't have a piano or voice teacher though. Does anyone know if there is a recording of the accompaniment online, like on youtube or anything that I could practice singing to? Thank you!

A. This might help: It's a "karaoke" version of Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, with piano accompaniment and flute playing (very softly) the melody. There are other versions on Youtube -- if you go to this one, the others will be over on the right side of the screen. Good luck with your audition!

How to: Accompanist , accompany , accompaniment ?
Q. How do I get the congregation to sing at the tempo I`m playing? (Organ) I always give a lively intro(if appropriate), and they always seem to drag it down to a funeral march tempo. Any other (church) accompaniment tips? Cheers

A. The real frank answer is: You don't. Your job is to accompany the congregation, at whatever tempo they're singing, and make them sound good. It's not your role to lead them. You can try, but I suspect you'll always be frustrated by the outcome.

A. This salad has a light, bright flavor, that will go well with the pungent taste of the goat cheese: I package washed baby salad greens (or fresh spinach) 1/2 c. sliced almonds (saute in sugar, until sugar melts & coats the nuts) 1 small can mandarin oranges, drained 1/4-1/2 sliced red onion Balsamic Vignarette salad dressing Toss well and serve ... (Can also substitute pecans for the almonds; fresh raspberries for the oranges; and Raspberry-Pecan or Raspberry-Walnut Vignarette dressing - storebought) A rice dish would be nice too ( pilaf; or citrus or garlic accented) ... If you wanted steamed asparagus too, that would be an elegant vegetable for an elegant entree:) Just with butter and salt ... Hagen Daz makes some nice fruit sorbets… [cont.]

A. Restrained variety is the key. Treat a fondue of this type like a lover, giving just enough variation without appearing like a whore. Stick to surf and turf and a selection of smaller vegetables would be my advice. Be generous too! That stuff is very "more"ish.

A. I personally think Piano is the best choice. Piano goes well with any instrument, for an accompaniment, but can also go well as the lead. It is used in all genres, like the drums. Also, if you know piano, learning other instruments is easier. The drums are hard in the beginning, but they get easy, so if you have rhythm, you can play it later. But also, you can play a brass instrument, if you want to be in the same section, if you get good, and are playing in a jazz band, or a band with a brass section (yes, in bands, saxes are included in the brass section). And also, if you learn trumpet, it would be easy to go to baritone, or tuba. So here are the points for piano -universal instrument; good for all genres -easy to learn other… [cont.]
